Questions asked by Parents & Guardians

We know that sending your child to university is a big step – not just for them, but for you too. At StudentFM, we’re committed to ensuring students feel safe, supported, and at home from day one. Here are some frequently asked questions we receive from parents and guardians:

Who will support my student during their stay?
Every StudentFM property is managed by a dedicated on-site team who are there to support your child throughout their tenancy. Our staff are trained to handle a wide range of issues – from maintenance and room queries to wellbeing concerns. We also provide access to 24/7 emergency support and have strong links with local student services and universities should additional help be required.

Can I stay overnight when I visit?
Yes, in most cases parents or guardians can stay overnight for short visits. We ask that students let our property management team know in advance and that all overnight guests are respectful of our community living standards. Please note that extended stays or frequent overnight guests may not be permitted, in line with tenancy terms.

Can I help my child move in?
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it. Our check-in days are designed to be smooth and welcoming, and we provide clear guidance on where to park and unload. Our team is always on hand to help answer any questions you might have during the move-in process.

How will I know my child is settling in?
We regularly check in with our residents and encourage open communication. If your child is experiencing challenges, they can speak to our on-site staff confidentially. While we are unable to share information without their consent due to data protection laws, we always work with students to ensure they feel safe and supported.

What safety measures are in place at the accommodation?
All StudentFM properties are covered by CCTV in communal areas, secure entry systems, and out-of-hours emergency response protocols. Our buildings meet rigorous fire safety and health regulations. Each student is given a full induction to our safety procedures when they arrive.
